THE ORIGIN STORY
After a variety of corporate and agency jobs utilizing his design and managerial skills, our Founder and Art Director "El Jefe" felt that he wasn't truly able to express his creativity and passion through his work...

...and with a leap of faith he left his job, decided to order a bunch of art supplies, and began experimenting with the print process.
​
Having spent over half of his life as a graphic designer, most of his life as an avid collector, and hie entire life as a nerd and sports fan, it is no surprise that he hit the ground running with Mint9, and hasn't looked back since!

Mint9 lives at the intersection of the hobby of collecting, the love for pop culture, the fandom in sports, and the appreciation for the art world.
Our creative foundation allows us to produce some of the most unique collectibles in a growing art space, and it is only getting better with time.

...WHY DID WE NAME OURSELVES MINT9?
We love being asked this question!

In the modern world of collectibles and cards, people will often submit their belongings to grading companies and authenticators to receive an evaluation in hopes of boosting the rarity and value of that collectible based on its condition!
On this popular grading scale, the highest possible rank is a GEM MINT 10, while the second highest is a (you guessed it) MINT 9.
Collectors are always hoping their items are graded a 10 as this increases the value the most. And unfortunately, there is usually a HUGE disparity between the value of a 10, and the value of a 9.
Getting a Mint 9 is usually a disappointing experience for collectors... and we are changing that!
In the (very corny) words of El Jefe:
"One man's Mint9 is another man's GEM MINT 10"
